70th Anniversary of Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell (June 8, 2019)

First day cover (click on the image for a larger image)

Transcamster Bog issued a stamp to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the publication of the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell. The first day of issue, June 8, 2019, is the 70th anniversary of the publication date.

The stamp depicts Orwell's photograph on his National Union of Journalists card. Instead of referring to Scotland, the stamp refers to Airstrip One, Oceania, the name of Britain and the superstate that conquered it in the novel. The stamp's denomination, 2 + 2 = 50 p, is inspired by the last scene of the novel.

The stamp is imperforate and ungummed (requires glue).

Transcamster Bog stamps are available on eBay, with sales in U.S. dollars on U.S. eBay and sales in British pounds on U.K. eBay.
