Transcamster Bog issued a stamp commemorating Dr. Huang Kuan on January 22, 2017, the weekend before the Chinese New Year. Huang Kuan (黃寬,1829–1878), also known in English-language history books as Wong Fun and Wong Foon, was the first Chinese person to graduate from the University of Edinburgh or any European university. He graduated with a Doctorate of Medicine in 1857 and returned to China to practice medicine. Today, a statue of Dr. Huang Kuan stands on the grounds of the Confucius Institute for Scotland at the University of Edinburgh.

More info on the life on Huang Kuan is on this website:

The stamp was designed by Derwin Mak, based on a drawing of Dr. Huang Kuan by the Canadian artist Tina Olah.

The stamps are imperforate and ungummed (requires glue).
