Brexit Day: Britain Leaves the European Union (Issued on January 31, 2020)

First day cover (click on the image for a larger image)

On January 31, 2020, Britain left the European Union. Despite losing votes in Parliament and defections from his own party, Prime Minister Boris Johnson finally made Brexit occur. The decision to leave the European Union was hardly unanimous across the country, though; most Scots voted to stay within the E.U.

Whether you approved of Brexit or not, it is undeniably an important event in the country's history. This stamp marks the occasion and depicts Boris Johnson, who was previously the subject of a 2019 Brexit Vote Defeat issue.

First day cover (click on the image for a larger image)

Transcamster Bog local post marks another important event in the developing history of the nation. On September 3, 2019, Prime Minister Boris Johnson was defeated in yet another vote about Brexit. It was his first vote as Prime Minister and the finale of a day that included a revolt by some of his own party's Members of Parliament and a Member defecting to the Opposition and thus eliminating the Government's majority in the House of Commons.

The stamp has a design similar to an earlier stamp issued for another Brexit vote defeat, Theresa May's:
The stamp is imperforate and ungummed, i.e., requires glue.

50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 Moon Landing (July 21, 2019)

First day cover (click on the image for a larger image)

Transcamster Bog issued a stamp to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11's landing on the Moon. The stamp depicts Neil Armstrong's photo of Buzz Aldrin on the Moon. The stamp also has an excerpt from Queen Elizabeth II's message to Apollo 11. The Queen's message, along with messages from other world leaders, was put on a disc that went to the Moon with Apollo 11.

The date of issue, July 21, 2019, is the 50th anniversary of Neil Armstrong becoming the first human to walk on the Moon. But according to NASA, the crew landed and exited from the lunar module on the same day, July 20, didn't they? They did in in the United States, by landing at 16:17 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) and with Armstrong stepping on the Moon at 22:56 EDT. However, in Great Britain, it was 02:56 Greenwich Mean Time on July 21 when Armstrong stepped on the Moon. Hence, Transcamster Bog set the first day of issue for this stamp at July 21.

The stamp is imperforate and ungummed (requires glue).
